How are Appointments Scheduled?

We attempt to schedule appointments at your convenience and when time is available. We see preschool children in the morning because they are fresher and we can work more slowly with the child for their comfort. We also see school children with a lot of work to be done in the mornings, for the same reason. Dental appointments are an excused absence from school. Remember, missing school can be kept to a minimum when regular dental care is continued.

Because we reserve appointed times exclusively for each patient, we ask that you please notify our office 24 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment time if you are unable to keep your appointment. We could schedule another patient who needs our care if we have sufficient time to notify them. We realize that unexpected things can happen, but we ask for your assistance in this regard.

Do I Stay with My Child During the Visit?

Although children are allowed to have parents or guests with them during treatment, please limit the number of persons with your child. It can be very difficult to render care with distractions caused by others' presence. Also, it is not in the best interest of a child to see another in a stressful situation. Some children even do better without the distraction caused by the presence of others.

What About Finances?

Unfortunately, due to collection problems, we have been forced to establish strict payment policies.

After the first visit, we will make a treatment plan for your child; you will be given a copy of this plan. The plan is an estimate of fees and cannot be exact, due to the unpredictable nature of pediatric dental treatment.

Financial arrangements can be made for hospital treatment. We will send a pre-treatment estimate to your insurance company, and any remaining fee not covered by insurance must be paid in advance of the treatment. If you do not have insurance, the entire fee must be paid before treatment is scheduled.

If you have dental insurance, please bring the dental insurance card with you to the office. A co-payment of at least 20% is required at the completion of each visit, except for routine check ups. We are not responsible for collecting from your insurance company. We can, however, help you with pre-treatment insurance estimates and filing claims. If your insurance company does not cover our fee, or if there is a remaining balance not covered by insurance, you are required to make those payments.

The maximum credit balance per family is $500, whether or not you have insurance. All balances are to be cleared within six months. We check the credit record of all patients after the first visit with a local credit reporting agency. We cannot issue credit to those with a poor credit history. We do accept Visa, Mastercard, personal checks, and cash payments.
